Paper Straw Manufacturing Business: If you want to start your own small business for good profit. You can earn lakhs of rupees every month by starting a paper straw manufacturing business. Because the central government banned the use of single-use plastics along with plastic straws from 1 July 2022. Plastic straws are used in everything from packaged drinks to cars. Due to ban on use of plastic straws, paper straws (paper straw) demand has increased tremendously. Due to the growing demand of paper straw in the market, its production is becoming a big business. In such a situation, paper straw making business can be a good option and you can earn millions from it.

Khadi and Rural Industries Commission (KVIC) has prepared a project report on paper straw units. According to the report, government approval and registration will be required before starting the business of making paper straw. For this project, GST registration, Uday Aadhaar registration (optional), choice of product brand name and if necessary securing the name with trademark and NOC from State Pollution Control Board.

According to KVIC, the project cost of the paper straw manufacturing business is Rs 19.44 lakh. Out of this you have to spend only Rs 1.94 lakh from your pocket. The rest can take a term loan of Rs 13.5 lakh and finance Rs 4 lakh for working capital. This business will start in 5 to 6 months. To start a business, you can also take a loan under PM Mudra Loan Scheme.

Paper straw requires three raw materials. This requires food grade paper, food grade gum powder and packaging materials. Apart from this, a paper straw making machine will be required, which costs around Rs 900,000. Other equipment will cost around Rs.50000.

Paper straws can be in one color over multiple colors. According to the color requirement, the paper rolls are placed on the roller stand of the machine. The machine then mixes the two to make hay. The paper is fed through the roller and sent to the gluing section. Food grade glue is applied to the corners of the paper. Then, the paper is regurgitated through a set of rollers according to the required dimensions.

The inner diameter of the straw can vary from 4.7 mm to 20 mm. The strips of paper are sewn precisely on top of each other and glued together. After this, the hay is fed to the cutting section where the cutters are employed. The hay is cut to the required length and collected in bins. After that, according to the quantity, they are packed and dispatched.

Paper straw making business can earn lakhs of rupees. According to KVIC report, if you start manufacturing paper straws with 75% capacity, your total sales will be Rs.85.67 lakhs. After deducting all expenses and taxes, the annual income will be Rs.9.64 lakhs. That means you can earn more than Rs 80,000 per month.
